Okay, I just finished all of it! Holy Crap! Tristan! Ravens! Wolves! Tesla! You sure do pack a lot of story in there. Bravo to Brown, Gallaher, and Ellis. If I read everything right, Dierdre is pregnant? With Prescott's baby? How will that end up?

This is one of the first Zuda comics I heard about. Some great attention to detail here. Between this, Bayou, and The Night Owls, there is an incredible amount of history on this site.

I totally dig on this series. I dug the ending for S3. I was sort of like this wonky Shamanistic vision quest. Makes sense - though I disagree Caanan about the 'You do now' lettering placement. He seems kind of off his rocker. And, I agree with williamowen, I like the sudden jump to Red - and those too working in tandem. Also, the artwork never fails to impress me and the story is fast-paced, energetic, and always moves. From a visual standpoint, the layouts easily outpace anything else of Zuda. I read that David and Steve work together on those is that true? I'm reminded a lot of Kirby and Simonson in what I'm seeing here. It's indefinable and unique. Keep up the great work --- oh, and why isn't this a 5-Star series yet?

Tokugawa says:

This is a tale of the hero Cuculain. The death of the first Macgregor, his primary enemies, his weapons and even the second Macgregor's history are derived from the legend. However, this has a sincerely Western setting. The climate appears as clothing to the comic and we feel something extremely alien in something extremely familiar.

For the peerless characters and awe-inspiring art, I can do little else but enjoy High Moon.

Nope. It was an extreme flash forward. Red had been following Conroy throughout Season 3. In the last couple of pages we skipped ahead - and we'll fill in the rest as we go along.

Thank you for the quick response. I want to add that High Moon would make for a great movie and video game. Maybe even a Jonah Hex crossover. That would be crazy weird.

Thank you for your input, David. I still have some thoughts, questions and theories that I'd like to share, so SPOILER ALERT for anyone who is not caught up.
.
Fergus - It's evident that poor Fergus has become a monster himself (page 179), possibly from drinking Prescott's "laudanum" (165).
.
Prescott - Was the genocide of the natives his only motivation? Or was he following orders from the same organization that employ the Macgregors? Also, Prescott's arm was wrapped like Matthew's arm was (165). And what was Prescott anyway?
.
"Red" - No idea who this is. Matthew, maybe? Was he saved from death by the Raven Mockers, too? Those "passerine birds" were flying around his carcass back in season 1 (57).
.
Margaret - What ever happened to this little girl? Did anyone from Blest survive?
.
To reiterate, I thought the season was great. While I have my questions, some ambiguity is good for the reader!

Here goes: Dog of Thunder was close with his prediction when he thought Young Raven was a 'big bad' but her role was just was simply just to lure Conroy in. You see, Grandfather Raven and Young Raven are part of a dying tribe of Raven Mockers. They foresaw bad things in the future (Screen 171). Using the GHOST DANCE, they were going to claim the life of their 'champion' to gain the strength they needed to survive. They saved Conroy against previous dangers, because he was no use to them dead. Conroy refuses to be sacrificed, making an enemy of the Raven Mockers. What is currently on screen is highly distilled exposition. I was operating under the theorem that "when scenes are built around dramatic tension, it doesn’t really matter what the story is about." I felt that less 'bad guy monologuing' stuff would be fine, as long as we had something visually spectacular to counter it with. Could we go back in an explain things a little more? Certainly. Zuda is a fluid process, after all.

Werewolves (and a whole lot more) in the Old West.
A grumbly, bounty-hunter, Matthew Macgregor, investigates a series of strange happenings in the dusty Texas town of Blest - where drought has brought famine and hardship to most of the town and surrounding ranches. Unfortunately, that's the least of the town's worries! While the summer heat pushes the mercury toward further unbearable degrees during the day, the nights are haunted by strange, unnatural creatures roaming the darkness.
While Macgregor, a former Pinkerton agent, seeks to uncover the towns dark secrets, he tries desperately to keep his own hidden - secrets of a past steeped in witchcraft and the supernatural. When the sun sets it'll be a showdown at High Moon.
From the horrors of Blest, Texas to the mountainous mysteries of Ragged Rock, Oklahoma, werewolf-hunter Macgregor investigates a series of murders following a bizarre train robbery. But, do his true motivations belie a sinister past? Soon, the town murders become the least of his worries as he finds himself caught in a vendetta, forced to do battle with a technological monstrosity. As he confronts his own dark origins, Macgregor must make the ultimate decision: live like a beast, or die like a man?
