War can be an awful thing. It can take something as pure as young love and turn it into little more than a commodity. When lovers born on opposite sides of a centuries long hatred are forced into a union to build a half-hearted truce, a foolish choice, a rash decision made for the most honorable of reasons, may not just escalate the bloody conflict but destroy the only thing worth fighting for. When Shinji returns home from his self imposed exile, he discovers what his choice had wrought and learns the one person he tried desperately to save was the one hurt the deepest. Love and hate, two sides of the same coin. Can he reignite old passions, or will he die at the hands of the one he loves?

Sorry you didn't like it Manny, but I must disagree with you totally. Actually it was proofread by Sean H. Taylor writer of IDW's Dominatrix, and other wonderful books, as well as the Zuda editorial team.
Honestly I think it was a fine piece, and a lot of folks really enjoyed it a lot. It's not for everyone, but it hit the market I was going for, and we actually did very well. We didn't make #1 but making it into the competition first try, and ending in the top 3 is a pretty big deal. Perhaps you will like some of the other print projects I have coming out later this year better. Thanks for stopping by.
eeeuuuch, not very impressed. the number of syntax errors and nonsensical expressions in the first pages alone... you should have stepped up your game more (asked someone to proofread maybe?) if you really wanted to have a chance at this competition... as for the story itself: how banal! just because u namedrop Romeo+Juliet in the story doesn't take away the obvious cliches you are feeding here. better luck next time.
thanks Oysterboy, there was a lot of local coverage that I WISH we could have gotten earlier but due to my convention schedule it was hard to get the photographers and reporters and whatnot all choreographed before the end of the comp. Marcker: There are several things coming out by me and Gigi over the next year or so. Me solo: Honor Brigade TPB (5 page story) Aym Geronimo TPB (prose short story) Me and Gigi: Nocturne (print manga, coming out I dunno when. Our editor is still giving us notes! lol) and a few things I am developing on the side when I rest up from the stress of he past few days. Thank you all for your support. I hope you all stay in touch. Gigi and I are on facebook, myspace, twitter, all that. :)
Oooh noooo!!! DX and you made it up a place too!!
Well congrats on a job well done, both of you! :) I hope we something something from you in the near future!
Man you came REALLY close! What ever you did in the last few days,do it again next time. You definitely did something right. lol Good luck with whatever's next dude.
Like the cigarrette commercials: You came a long way baby! Next time.
Thanks Bob, Crash, and everyone for your support this month. I did the best I could to get the word out, make it happen but I guess I fell short. Congrats to Dwight, and kudos to all my fellow competitors. You played hard, made some good comics, and that's what its all about.
Great Work!! You've created a new fan.
Bob @ Portside.
Cmon, cmon, cmon! Vote for Kogoshii! Do it! Do it NOW!!!!
Had to post a "wow".... I think you had 60 favorites a day ago and now you lead (in favorites anyway) at this moment with 3 times that. WOW. You're definitely doing something right.... WOW.
Holy hamsters! Not to jinx you but you might just take this! Looks like its a brawl for the top 3. Good luck!!!
Hey oysterboy! Thanks man. WOW!!!! I take my eyes off the thing for one second and things blow up. I attest it to the TV coverage, and the paper, etc. And some wonderful wonderful friends. THANK YOU ALL. I am committed to seeing this to the end! I hope the votes keep coming!
Wow Danny nice work with the vote gathering the last bunch of days!
I wish you the best of luck!
-Tim
Hey dude, thanks for coming out to the play over the weekend. Glad you liked it. We're all rooting for you in this. We'll do all we can to help!
animatsuri: thanks man! Don't count us out yet! I am still working. If we don't make #1 we go down fighting. I have not given up, and neither should any of you! Kogoshii WILL RISE!
Too bad there's no bronze medal award here. Been pushing this comic on anyone willing to listen though.
We're at the 4th quarter with seconds left on the clock! Contest ends TOMORROW at NOON! We have made it out of our 4th place status for the first time since first rankings. THANK YOU!!!!!!! We can do this! #1 is within grasp!
Go Danny! I hope the rest of Olde Towne comes out for you guys!
We saw you on TV! Good Luck! We're pulling for you!

Will it help us? Only time will tell!
Heroes Con was awesome! Thanks to everyone who came out. Thank you for your votes and your support!
Hey Crash, no idea right now on the long term plan for Kogoshii outside of Zuda. Gigi and I are working on another manga for print called Nocturne. It's always a possibility we may continue but it's 100% chance we do if we win! so lets see dem votes! twotimingpete as soon as I get back from heroes con I will be send the links! I am responding here from table #413! so those in charlotte come see me!
addresses, my man. give me an address to these things you mention.
Are you guys going to continue this story even if you don't win? Not that the competition is over. Long way to go....
Also anyone heading to Heroes Con come visit me at table #413! I will have prints and stuff, and maybe some things.
Famished - Thanks for the comment! Sorry it lulled for you, but if we can secure your vote I guarantee everything you mention is going to happen. chátalo - THANKS! Buuuuut what about the story man? lol. twotimingpete - we have a Myspace, a facebook, a twitter, and Kogoshii updates are on my livejournal, redroom author page, and 12 other blogs I am part of. Also for Hampton Roads residents I am going to be in the Wed edition of the local paper The Virginia Pilot on Wed (I think it'll be Wed.) non VA residents can check it out at pilotonline.com
you guys have a website or blog or anything? if not you should.
nice art... ...
I liked the intro, but I didn't think it carried enough gravity until the last few pages. 8 pages is tough, but if more of the intro showed the deep-rooted hatred between the clans I think I would have been more drawn in.
Hey man! Thanks! It's a tough crowd but I for one love it! I've been in this biz for about 10 years, so a little harsh critique here and there is all part of the game. It actually makes you a better creator. We're going to push through it. Hopefully our display at Heroes Con will get us the needed push! are you going?
Hey, Mr. Donovan! Good job on the story and on the art quiescenz1! Well, you're actually doing pretty good in the standings. I told you the Zuda crowd was tough... But you never know... One update can change everything!
I am hoping people are going to vote at the last minute thus giving us a huge surprise victory. lol. I have had a few local folks tell me they loved it but couldn't vote 'cause they didn't wanna sign up. It's hard to tell how far behind you are without seeing the tally for all I know the only thing that separates us and Sidewise is 10 votes! lol. If you go by favorites we're 48 behind. But some people favorite your comic, but don't vote for it, and others vote for it but don't favorite or rate it. So we're going to run our race as hard as we can and do what we can to make it to #1 by the end of the month!
Interesting that this the 2nd most viewed comic but 4th in actual votes.
Thanks CausleyConcepts! We hope we have your vote this month! We would love to be able to continue it!!!!
Wonderful comic guys. Good luck this month. -- Sean
Thanks JohnnyZito! We appreciate your support Black Cherry Bombshells is excellent as well! I hope we get to join you guys as a regular feature here!

If you want to see this continue, its important to get the word out! I don't know why the standings have been frozen for the past few rankings. But we need to thaw out!
Cool stuff guys.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!
Awesome strip! Keep going, Olde Towne's got your back! We're pulling for you!
Of all the comics here, this here is my favorite. Nicely done!
There are a few new KOGOSHII ads running so I would like to take a minute to tell those coming from different sites, WELCOME, and I hope you enjoy your story and please vote, we can only continue with your help! Vote, Favorite, Star! And I want to give thanks to MCC Church, Olde Towne Civic League, OTBA, Starboards, Broken Frontier, and Local Heroes Comics for their support so far!
Thanks KingMosh! Thanks Saecula! We're happy to have your support and votes. :) We promise to make this a great epic should we be allowed to continue. :)
I really like the story in this piece. It has alot of different ways it can unfold so it leaves me on edge to see. But with alot of manga the ending is not always happy. Which is another reason why I like to read it. It portrays more of a realistic feel even though it is still a story. Very nice job Danny.
I also enjoy the artwork being in black and white. Colored pieces sometimes take away from the artwork and I like all the changing tones for shadowing to night and day. It keeps the eyes busy looking at all the detail. Keep up the great work guys and I hope to see more.
