It is the latter end of the eighteen hundreds, an age where science and the occult blossom together in a terrifying way. Items of great otherworldly power lay scattered around the world and as warfare changes the learned and powerful look to these strange artefacts to better their countries armaments.
Cue Peabody & D’Gorath Britain’s foremost paranormal antiquarians. Taking on the assignments that are too weird and dangerous for the average tea sipping gentry they find themselves on the forefront of this paranormal arms race going toe to toe with esoteric beings and rival antique hunters all for Queen and Country!

Cheers bro. Again, great stuff and good luck on your next project!
It was baout 2 or 3 months i think
This is a good comic bro, if you continue it or another story with these characters I'd love to read it! Otherwise I'll await your next entry.
.
Can I ask one question though? How long after submitting this did it appear in a competition? Within 3 months or longer, sooner?
Thanks to everyone who voted and faved me, Im gutted I didnt get further but I love you all for your support :)
I guess the only criticism i would have is that i would like to know more about Peabody and D'Gorath themselves, but then again, i guess that's not really a criticism because if i want to know more, you must have done something right! Love the artwork and the general feel of this one Doctor. It's a cartoon waiting t ohappen.
Has that great, wild Asterix Obelix kind of feel to it.
Great work.
Thanks for the review mpd57 It was a fair and even one!
Thanks Foz, I too wish there could be more but itd be a miracle to pull up any further in the ranks in this late stage, saying that Im sure youll be seeing more of the dynamic duo in some format :)
Thanks to you other sassy people who commented too :)
Funny and original, with a really different art style. I like it.
This is a hoot. Great work, Mark. I wish there was more!
This is awesome! It really made me laugh. I think part of the second page has been sliced off though - on the right-hand side. You got my vote anyway, you totally deserve to win!

Man, I love this.
This is a great comic overall. I wish there was little more contrast in the coloring, and I'm a bit lost on page 6 - but otherwise I think it's great.
The characters are cool, the paneling flows well, the art is simple but effective. I hope you get more votes for this, you deserve it.
Very cool comic! I love your artstyle and the characters in this story looks awesome!
Veeeery nice character man :)
I enjoyed this entry so much I decided to join in the fun and design an antiquarian, Mark. Cut and paste...

Good luck!
I liked the characters. The story just felt like I'd been through it a few times. Heck, I'm sure once or twice on here with Zudas other person/group against the paranormal. I did look past that, though, it just seemed to me like Britain's B.P.R.D. or Perhapanauts or Librarian, etc.
ZephiriusJixx- You sir have some DAMN FINE IDEAS! I followed your suggestions and a tearoffable poster can be found here

Thanks for all the help in getting word of the comic out there, Ive got a few things that will hopefully get me rocking up them rankings soon!
The artwork is totally cool. I like all the character designs. Plus, I admire the choice to start in the middle of a story, rather than a traditional exposition-heavy start. Nice work all around.
VERRRRRY enjoyable! :)
hey, really liked all of this, that 7th screen is awesome
1 more vote for you
This is a weird comic and I love it. That page 7 looks stellar in full screen. Excellent!
I'm just going to start sticking your posters up everywhere now to try and get more votes. I must say though you should put the little tabs on them with just the name of the comic and the url, because then people could rip it off in RL and take it with them.
Thanks for getting me into third place guys, Im clawin my way up the ranks!
Thanks too for the faves and counstructive crits and for anyone whos passed word of the comic on to their friends.
Im currently running a Peabody & D'Gorath competition so if you liked the comic then CHECK IT OUT!

The art in this isn't mind-blowing. It's not bad, but it doesn't jump out as being great. But what's important is that it serves to tell the story without any fault. The writing, however, is fantastic. I love the tone and the pacing and the dialogue. It's written in a way that makes me want to write as well. Some months this would run middle of the pack for me, but this month, you've got my vote!
I liked the pace and mood of this a lot, and the art was nice, aside from a few unclear events and confusing panel transitions. It got a lot done in eight pages while managing to feel a bit like Mignola's Zombie World, which is fine, but I just wish that it had all been funnier. The humor was hit-and-miss, so more jokes would have meant more hits...
This is the only comic this round that feel I want to keep reading. I'm sorry that you got bad reviews from people like Brynn who seem like they need their character development and plot laid out all simple like. I really like how you used your 8 pages to jump right into a interesting story instead of a condensed crapfest.
I very confused by storyline, and while colour all too similar, art is very good!
Impressive work! Solid start for a series! I love the artwork! It seems as though I have been following the adventures of your characters for years, due to the fact that how easily the reader can be immersed in the story. Great, easy read! You have my vote...HANDS DOWN!!! I'd love to see you pull this off and win! Best of luck!
I'm voting early coz I want to see this shoot up the ranks. I'm hungry to see more, so publicize the tits off it bro, win win win!
Really like your characters and style. A few pages were kind've confusing in terms of storytelling but I got the overall gist. Good job!
Wow, your comic was the surprise of the day! Last week I had skipped over it for some reason, well I didn't like the thumbnail, but oh well. Anyway, I just read it and changed my vote to your comic. I think I liked Model Student equally as much as I liked yours, but IMO, Peabody and D'Gorath is more original. Props to originality! I'll try and help you spread the word about your comic. Thanks for giving me such a pleasant surprise tonight, and good luck this month :) -Daniel
I'm digging the odd characters and the occult theme. I <3 screen 7. Sometimes the grammar and parts of the dialogue seem odd to me, but I realize that most of that is due to the British spelling. I had a chance to take a look at your website. There's some really good stuff there. I wish you luck.
I like very much.
Thanks again guys, Im overwhelmed with the kind words and all the faves and page views Ive gotten over the past couple of days, Thanks alot for spreading the word about the comic and the continued support!
God, I just keep looking at that last page. Brainzzzz!
Dude this has to win, its too funny and the art is great.
Page 7 is really great! Liked the art style! Good luck!
haha i cracked up when their cover was blown,it won my vote. best of luck! =]
Kure, if you can't do this I don't know who can!
Up the ranks with your teeeeth!
I absolutely love this art style. The color palette is right up my alley. As is pretty much everything else. I love how Peabody and D'Gorath don't aren't major badasses. More of a Sherlock & Watson type duo. Very refreshing. I'm pulling for you.
Void is slowly taking over! You, Fence, and Dawg are really kicking ass with these comics. I hope you guys bring in another win for us.
Great stuff man, excellent fun and the themes just keep opening up, gives a real expansive feel to the content!
Hey, I've seen these characters before on your website, cool to see more happening with them. Good luck!
with this comic not being in first place.
Come on! this is the best one up here this month.
Absolutely adore this one. Just comes to life in so many ways.
Everything Brock said - very cool!
Yes! This is a fantastic comic and secured my vote for this month based on the pacing, the colors, the well-written script and the great designs. Very cool, sir! My only quibble is some quite noticeable spelling mistakes, but other than that you're golden. Good luck this month.
