Also, I've been having computer issues since this contest began, but starting soon I'll be posting Maxy J production sketches and original layouts with slightly alternate story on my site's journal.-- www.deliciosbrains.com
---------

Melody, Hey, Zuda as a whole will get what it wants in the end. I'm probably going to get to scripting the rest of Maxy J in a couple weeks.
---------------
Sam, we need more votes so Maxy J can stay on this site, and so you don't have to go to jail!!
---------------
mpd, yeah I honestly didn't think Maxy would get this low. If I were slightly more invested I would be pretty floored myself. I feel bad for a comic like Word Of Power that hasn't even seen the top 4 though, and could easily be there as far as I'm concerned.

You got my vote. Of all the comics in the current competition I felt yours was the most refreshing. It has an indie comic feel with great polish and good humor. The style you work with lends itself so well to the fantastical, surreal story and characters you're using. Glad you're working in comics.

ps I also wear my robe before bed, and all other times I can climb into that most comfy of wears.

....but if it comes down to Pray for Death vs. Crooked Man at the end then I'll be switching over to support the one that I'd actually look forward to reading.
I'd play it straight if the top 2 were both of interest to me, but there is such a gap in enjoyment that I think I'd be doing myself a disservice if I didn't do everything in my power to get my second favorite comic up on top of the chart.

I haven't read persepolis, There's probably an answer for your burning questions somewhere below in all the discussion. I'm sure you can figure out that zuda probably wouldn't pick a comic with nudity and language for a contest.. I don't see how that would make it a better story either.
-------------
ptimony, I couldn't tell you. Some people must have more votes with less views and less discussions and that counts more I think. The zuda rankings are a mystery to me, but that's probably a good thing. I'm just happy so many people are reading it.

The art reminds me of Satrapi's Persepolis. It wouldn't work as well if it were in any other style. I wonder where the story is going, and I wonder why I even care. Maxi is interesting by himself, but I wonder why his owner has to be grown up. If this is an kids's story intended for adults then it could use foul language or have a nude scene. As is it kinda hovers somewhere between limbo and WTF. On the whole this story doesn't really work for me. It's interesting to see that it is doing so well in the rankings.

Maxy J Millionaire is a rambunctious stuffed toy who loves four things in life; wearing his custom robe, eating chicken nuggets, writing people checks and his girl Roxanne. One day Roxanne commits the unthinkable and sleeps with her new boyfriend on top of Maxy. Disgusted and heart broken, Maxy J sets out to find his own place in the world. Sneaking off with the mail man, Maxy soon learns that the rest of the world is not as hospitable and accommodating towards a tiny toy in a red fox suit as Maxy would have believed, and certainly not as loving as Roxanne. Maxy quickly decides to return to his home. There's only one problem, Maxy J doesn't remember where home is. In a rollicking tale filled with bikers, hip-hop beef, homeless bloggers, adulterous wives, trendy rock bands and a desperate Roxanne in search of her beloved stuffed toy. The Adventures of Maxy J Millionaire is fanciful tale about a small stuffed doll, making a big impact on people's lives and hearts and eating plenty of chicken nuggets along the way.
