Former daredevil Vic Boone is a private investigator in a world etched by the science fiction of drive-in movies and early Hollywood. It's a landscape of robots, ray guns, and regular Joes. But whether his client is a beautiful socialite or a brain that wouldn't die, Boone is out to get the job done no matter how bizarre.

There's a small but nifty selection of Vic Boone merchandise available at:
http://www.zazzle.com/vic_boone
Or just type "vic boone" into the search field on the Zazzle main page.
This was a nice read. I hope to see more of it in the future.
Thanks, Mookie
This comic is a real gem on zuda.
Great pacing. The dialogue did just what it needed to do and didn't go over the top. One of the most pro submissions I've seen here. What WON this month?
The VB team is in agreement, guydc3--best compliment ever.
I'd pay $3.99 a month for that! Great stuff.
Ah, the joy of finding a new comment. Every so often I check Boone to see if anyone ever finds it, or to see if that final rank of 2 will ever change to a 1. One can dream.
Thanks for the kind words, FaceMcgee and krycekuva. I'm always shocked when someone finds us in the deadzone or past competitors.

This was a great read! The main character was classic cool from the classic sci-fi mystery era. Great Job.
definitely a great one... love the art, and the story seems to be a dick-tracy-tough-guy-like... which is good:D...
would love to see more of it..
Wow, a new comment on the page. I figured this was dead, lost in the "explore comics" deadzone.
Thanks for the compliments Gnar and C Edward.
Albatross-- There is something in the works with Vic Boone. I just can't go into details about it. Hopefully, sooner than later.
Still wish we would've won. dammit.
...can we find Vic somewhere else yet?? you're not waiting for the 2nd zuda invitational, are you? i mean, i can accept that, but that's a long ways away!!
Great Sci Fi needs Action , Got That! Good tight old school look. Great Color Work, layouts, strong inks, great last panel. Cyclops & Robots are a hit anytime. Liked it alot.
I love classic sci-fi! It was great to see some of those concepts coming back in this strip! Did I see somewhere that this is continuing elsewhere? Hope so, gotta look for details!
Congratulations on nabbing second! Hopefully you can take another stab at it with an even better comic. You guys are true class acts, and I hope to see you here competing again.
I figured this should be up top---

Thanks, NeutronCrush. Your sentiments are shared by many. Unfortunately, it just wasn't Boone's month. Hopefully, he can find a home somewhere.
Damn that was close! It's too bad you guys didn't win, this was definitely one of my favorites from all of the competitions.
****
Good luck with your future projects!
Thanks, sam and john.
FROM THE EARTH TO BOONE!!!!
A race well run guys. Hope to see Vic Boone continue somewhere somewhen someway.
Kid you put up a really good fight. Welcome to the 2nd place club! (Of course I'm also in the 3rd place club!)
Congratulations Guys for this great comic, and amazing promoting work, I hope the best for Vic Bonne. :D
Bryy baby, we are enjoying a cold saucer of prosecco on Boone Island. All are invited.
At least you tried. Good going.
Hey VB team! Like I said before...you guys would have had my vote if it didn't happen to be this month, so I am really sad you guys weren't able to bump up to 1st again :( but that being said...I'll continue to keep tabs on you guys and I too hope we will some day meet @ a con :) Best - Sara
your very welcome kidgloves, dash, and J.W., what I hope the future holds is more vic boone somehow someway. Thanks again for a really enjoyable read and all around great comic. Also assuming there is a Zuda Invite II your already down on my list for that.
So, the albatross curse continues. :)
I'm kidding, albatross. And you win 2nd best comment. Anyone who wants Boone more than their shoes is surely a big fan.
s
...i picked a bad week to give up checking zuda/computer-world/amphetamines... i want this comic more than i want my shoes back. those shoes have been lost in the mail since i moved back from New York... keep this going PLZ KTHXBYE <3
Oh, and a big thanks to David Lloyd. Yes, the V for Vendetta guy. He's a fan of Boone, too.
since we're sharing, as garbled previously, my personal email: sikitikis@gmail.com
oh, and for those who'd like to hit me up with spam--
cantukeeslim@gmail.com
And hell, will i'm at it check out my band, too

Ah, how could i forget to thank Sam, Josh, and gph. Thanks for picking up the slack, JW.
I even forgot to thank MPD for being such a hater. :) That's when you know you made it, when you have haters. ;)
And Gabe(gph), I know you were a huge supporter of Boone. Thanks on bringing us some extra readers. We hope Boone someday can continue. I have, at this point, 5 years worth of stories that will make my head exploded if they don't get out in some form.
But, and this seems so appropriate to say in regards to Boone---
Who knows what the future holds?
hey Matt--thanks and a hearty congratulations!!! Now you and Gabe enjoy! (and get some rest and have a snack for goodness sake : D) We'll be raising a glass from Boone Island to Zuda tonight--this has been a blast!
We also want to thank DC and Zuda for the opportunity.
We'll be around, but anyone interested in contacting us directly can reach us (appropriately enough) at:
vicboone@gmail.com
I can personally be reached at colonelboone@gmail.com
Thanks also to SamLittle, Josh "Araknid Kid" Alves, gph, mpd57 (oh, why not), screamingdolai, the Night Owls crew (you Timony bros. are awesome--you really go out of your way to participate on the site, even though you got a well-deserved instant win and could easily sit in Night Owls HQ and ignore the rest of us). Also to all the friends and family who may not have exactly been into this type of thing who took the time to vote for and support us.
One of the most gratifying aspects of this for us was all the positive feedback and votes we got from regular Zuda readers and past competitors. You folks have been fantastic.
Vic Boone is tremendous. I know what you're feeling right now (although Chachi and I never tasted first place during the February comp). This is an excellent comic. Please find a way to continue it. I turned many folks on to it. Kudos on a classy competition.
--Gabe
You guys have proven very classy. I mean it when I say I feel bad that only one of us could win. Good luck on everything. -Matt
Now, for the thanks. First and foremost, I have to think my spectacular art team. Without them, Boone would simply be a pile of papers in my draw. This would not have been possible, literaly, without them. Add to that, the fact Jeff is my best friend and it was just that much sweeter.
I'd also like to thank RKB, Rob, Bryy and anyone else I'm forgetting, for their support and enthusiasm. Caanan and Saulone for their awesome pieces of "fan" art. A very special thanks to my girlfriend, Gwendolyn, who put up with my overly obsessive behavior for a month.
And a great big thanks to all the Scandinavians who said f--the language barrier and voted for Vic.
My favorite quote--I'd read an a$$load of this comic.
The same right back at you and Team Shock Effect, Ian. You guys were pros in your work and throughout the competition. We'll definitely keep you update, and please do the same.
Hey JW, Shawn and Dash,
Great competing with you shame you didn't, shame either of us didn't win--but it was great having such strong running mates all the same. Keep us in the loop about any new projects you're cooking up -- I'm easy to find at my website www.iandaffern.ca . Vic Boone is super polished and great concept too, and you were a class act for this show.
Good on ya.
The creative team as a group will have a lot of thank yous to dole out, but I wanted to first personally and publicly thank my creative partners--my best man and friend Shawn "kidgloves" Aldridge, for creating a concept and script so good I put the brakes on a project of my own because I just had to be a part of the world of Vic Boone; and my wife and friend Rachel "dash" Winstead, for truly bring that world alive with her vibrant coloring, and for her behind-the-scenes input on the general design of the strip, particularly for our "lobby card" on screen 8.
No artist could ask for better people to work with.
Hey guys, I'm sorry you didn't win this month. I enjoyed your comic and think you're really talented. Hopefully we'll get another submission from you soon.
Great stuff! I love the retro design.
Lode,
Thanks for coming by and the kind words. www.Pulpdeluxe.be is a wonderful collection of artists and comics. Hangar 84 is great, though I can't read it. :)
I would suggest to all to check them out.
Again, thanks, Lode.
Thanks, Lode! Always happy to hear from a Belgian here at Vic Boone Central :)
Kid ran across Pulp Deluxe and turned dash and me on to it. Hangar 84 is beautiful! I can't really read it, but Roswell, New Mexico makes for good SciFi in any language!
This one is of course my favorite.
I love it;
As a SF retro comic artist I couldn't miss :-)
Love the composition and fonts of the cover too.
It don't look very European to me but I can imagine why the say that. I must rather think at the Weird Science Comics of the fifties.
Good retro name of the hero...remembers me at Pat Boone ;-)
I'm always a fan of the Italian/Oblong cinema format,
A bit of shameless publicity: check also the story Hangar 84 at www.pulpdeluxe.be
It begins at Roswell 1947 ...
As a European (Belgium) this should be more like European style :-)
Suppose it's time to see what tomorrow brings.
Goodnight, all.
just in case you missed these links: interviews with most of this months Zuda creators
http://zudafan.blogspot.com/
and a lively podcast critique of all the strips--hang on til the end to hear Vic Boone get taken apart : )

ha! thanks MotorheadScotsMan!!
RKB, I can not WAIT for you to be in this thing (just glad we're not up against you)
Take it from me, out of this month's competitor's--This is the Ace of Spades!!!!
