Somewhere in the future, robots rule the land. The white picket fences and freshly mowed landscapes of suburbia decayed into rust and concrete. Toxic pollution and poisonous haze linger in place of the clouds and the sky. Humans all but eradicated by their own hand.
In this harsh mechanical wasteland lives SUPERTRON. A robot of unprecedented power and wit. Knowing only of himself, he wanders the land looking for a chance at mischief. His intentions are mysterious, his past, mysterious-er.
His only known equal is SPINBOT; a maniacal bot of style and speed. His iron-will and ferocious inertia is comparable only by his unpredictable and sporadic scheming.
Between the two there is no clear GOOD or EVIL. There is only burning and itching BITTERNESS that can only be quelled by the sweet cream of REVENGE. They share a rivalry more grand and epic than any other on earth, and their battle with rage on and on until only one remains.
See here the simple origins of their seemingly childish grudge, but watch as their enmity evolves and escalates into the final showdowns to end all showdowns.
Theirs is a road all robot's must walk, before they can ever be considered MEN.
This is their story...

Nope. Sorry. I can't believe this actually won. I was put of at the start with Supertron and Spinbot.
I remember reading this in Image's Popgun Anthology last year. Is that allowed? =P it's cool either way, I loved it then I love it now.

i dig the lettering... also, it's an easy sell with me when the word "douche" is used with any sort of frequency. love. it. an EXCELLENT "slap in the face" term to throw at any (robot) you may disdain. good luck with all this! i really like the art. it's a bit too early in my opinion to proper judge/make a call on the story side, so i'll be watching/reading with much anticipation. peace!

HAHA AND DONT GET STRUNTY WITH ME MR.RKB. i have been working furiously on these pages, you're just not seeing all of them. i'm in talks with Mr.K to see if i can have the entire "episode" updated each time. this is a fraction. relax and be patient, sir.
What I liked: The eye in the hand gag, and the one, two strike bit. The eye was nice and creepy especially for a robot, and nice: more insight into spinbot's character. I acutally like the whole strike countdown deal, better than I did the racing gag from the first 8 screens. You do a great job on the characters faces nice expressive bots there.

What i still don't like: The letters/text boxes, i know it's robots in the future so they get the techno-layout/font, and the different balloon colors (black, white) makes you think of very different voices for the two bots. It's still hard for me to get into the story the way the balloons are. Not an easy read for me. You do a great job on the characters faces nice expressive bots there. Still don't like the colors because it still hurts my eyes, another thing that keeps me from really getting into the comic.

Two screens is how big the update is??????? I thought you said you had been working on this??? ;) Seriously though, maybe the four screen updates on High-Moon and P for D, just spoiled this Zuda reader. Is 2 screens going to be ST standard, or will it change depending on how many screens you want to put out at once. Folks who are really fans are going to wanting those other 2 screens at least. What is the update sch. going to be, for Supertron?

i'll admit, i really didn't quite get Super Tron. the few trips i've taken since have helped me connect better to the comic. i like it a lot, LOVE the art, and would love to know when updates begin. take your time with that sweet, sweet art, though.

FreakyFudge: What makes you think I like capes? I hate capes. Deadpool wears no cape and is not a super-hero, so I don't know how you came to this conclusion. And did you not notice this already had success, and a following before it came here.
A lot of energy, and I really like the overall quality, I'm really interested in seing how you expand this over the Popgun version.
This was one of the first comics I read on here and it's still one of my favorite comics. Congrats Sheldon.

Not sure what this has to do with Nextwave, but I understand it not being your style. Some comics work other aspects of the medium that not everyone can appreciate. Seems like enough of us liked all 8 pages of this one well enough to give an award.
Stick with capes and you'll be fine.
Not to be mean but that is one of the worst examples of comedy in comic form I have ever dared to get past the second page of (I failed miserably on the fifth). It is worse than Nextwave. On the other hand if you like Nextwave you'll love this. Sorry just not a fan of this kind of humor. But believe it or not Deadpool is my fav character. I guess this just wasn't sarcasticly full of pop-culture references. And by the way the word bot is so over used it has loses its punch, and remember I only got to the 5th page.

So, way, way back at the start of the competition, I posted to the effect that SuperTron was good, but had absolutely no chance at winning. I am glad that I was proved wrong.
I know that I've been lobying for DitC something terrible over the past week or two, but SuperTron winning is not a bad result of the competition at all. SuperTron had one of the greatest settings, and most interesting and unique style of all of zuda's submissions period. And it has the coolest lettering that I have ever seen.
So, congrats Sheldon. You and your creation definately deserve it.

Well said, Sheldon! Congratulations again on the win. I really like Supertron, and I feel it brings something new and valuable to the Zuda community.
This is a totally cliche thing to say, but this is no individual victory.
Not only did i have the input and enouragement from my friends during the creation of this comic, but i had their undying and selfless support during the competition. And there's no real way to thank them all enough. You all have my love.
As well, to all those people i have never met before but liked my work enough to vote, you have my sincerest gratitude.

YES. SHELDON WINS! Zuda holds hope for me again! The hope that Supertron will pull in some fresh audiences and get the new generation to get fired up and participate. Then maybe, just maybe, comics as we know it can finally MOVE ON.
